Barcelona is one of the most lively harbor cities on the Mediterranean and after Madrid, Spain’s second largest city and the capital of Catalonia. Intimate squares, small palaces and tangled alleys provide a good insight into its history as Iberians, Greeks and Romans once had trading posts there. La Rambla is a wide and shady boulevard that travels through the old town to the harbor and is where life goes on both night and day. It’s also where street artists perform, shoeblacks work diligently and portrait painters tout for trade among the passing tourists. The Museu Maritim is situated in the royal dockyards of Drassanes, that were built when the city was at its zenith. Its buildings are unique examples of Gothic architecture and the vast dimensions of the dockyard allowed 30 ships to be built simultaneously in the name of the Catalonian-Aragon crown. Few parks are as famous as the Park Guell. With this, Antoni Gaudi created a new design concept in this fabulous garden city. At its entrance, Gaudi placed a colorful lizard as a symbol of the water that is collected in subterranean cisterns and is used for the distribution of water in the park. The city itself is also featured in Gaudi’s magnificent fantasies. The Palau Guell was treated to an ostentatious roof with a great array of air shafts and chimneys. BUMP! – BUMP! – Toronto

Toronto is Canada’s largest city, home to over 4.5 million people. We start off this edition of Bump! on Church Street, the heart of the gay community, touring the neighbourhood with gay city councilor Kyle Rae, learning how this area became the “gay village.” Bump! visits with Sharon Gless and Jack Weatherall, stars of the acclaimed North American version of “Queer As Folk”, set in Pittsburgh and filmed in Toronto. For art collectors, the options are endless. We drop by the studio of queer underwear artist, Will Munro, where Bump! host JR Anderson models his avant-garde designs. Shopaholics will revel as we visit some of Toronto’s many gay-owned and gay-friendly shops and stores. Bump! also attends Fashion Week and meets local success story Dean and Dan Caten, gay twin designers now based in Milan. We also get front row seats at Fashion Cares, a glittering annual event that has raised over million for Toronto’s AIDS/HIV charities. Finally, we round out our trip with a tour of gay-owned B&B’s and guesthouses before we head to back to the gay village and check out the hopping social scene.

BUMP! – BUMP! – Berlin

Berlin gets off to a busy start as Charlie takes us to the Mann-O-Meter, a must-stop for all that is gay in Berlin followed by a “Diva’s and Gay Icon’s” walking tour of the city. Along the way, we stop at Schwulesmuseum, a gay museum and Bruno’s, a vast gay media and book store, as well as a few gay cafes. We’ll also meet Monika, the woman most in the know about the queer scene in Berlin since the early 1970′s. After a rest at the chic Arco Hotel, it’s off to sample the very hip restaurant scene including dinner and drinks at Zoe and More, followed by a bar and club tour including the Halloween Masquerade at club Cafe.
